"Every Cocktail Has A Soulmate." This quote means a lot to me. It came to me during my first trip to California last year. We were staying at the Sir Francis Drake in San Francisco. Driving through those hills is serious. There was an interesting liquor store across the street from where I was staying.
There were a lot vintage bottles and the store caught my attention. Plus I was looking for a bottle of wine from Spain to have in the room while I got some work done. As I browse through the store like most kids in candy shops, I notice really rare bottles, and that lead me to starting a conversation with the owner.
Just by seeing the majority of his collection I knew he must be very knowledgable and interested in spirits. We began to talk and geek out on different spirits and before you know it almost an hour went by. I didn't even notice. As I got my bottle of wine and pay the man I look up on the shelf and see Macallan Double 12 which had recently been released. So I ask him one last question, "Do you sell a lot of that double twelve?" and he says to me "Every bottle has a customer." The way he said it to me really resined inside my mind. When I got to the room I started running with a lot of ideas and began writing them down.
After a bit of going back and forth I thought of, "Every Cocktail Has A Soulmate." Which now means a lot to me. I feel that one cocktail can change your life. I stand by that and it's been proven through my successes. Passion pours out of me when I talk about cocktails. I love what I do and I want to keep sharing it with the world.
Below is a cocktail we did for Macallan in their launch of the new Quest Collection. Four travel retail expressions that can only be purchased in total wine and outside of the U.S. This event was held at the Perez Art Museum in Miami.
